The beauty of Dehradun, I mean the whole of Uttarakhand can't be put into mere words. Before coming to doon valley, I had never travelled to any nothern states of India.This was my first time. I thought Dehradun's beauty lay in the mountains only. I was wrong. This place is rich in culture and biodiversity.
I came here in the month of august, I witnessed a lot of amazing insects and cute little birds. I often close my eyes and listen to the chirpings, it's quite magical. And winter's came by and I am awaiting summer to see the insects.
Not just it , The river's flowing with crystal clear water that I saw at the maldevta picnic spot last year.
But what I failed to imagine about doon is that it is quite populated and polluted. I walked through the city roads , lot's of traffic, dust , bustling environment, totally opposite to the serene mountains. Every place has it's own essence. I admit I love dehradun, but sorry I am not a fan of the food. Born and brought up in the south, I love spicy food and not curd and roti every meal. But I love aloo paratas . Talking about food, I remember the delicious taste of my home food. But it's okay I still get to eat yummy masala dosa at my college food court.
About culture, I attended the VIRASAT 2023, the 15 day annnual cultural fest of dehradun promoting asian culture with various performances and stalls. Overall, this city is really special to me
